Hey guys another work truck is messed up its a 1999 E-450 super duty with a V-10 and has 64,000 on it. I noticed around 35-40 mph there is a severe vibration in the steering wheel and the genreal front end. I noticed it hasnt had the power it used to have when its idleing it sounds normal but theres a faint smell of burining oil. Also off stop lights i gas it and theres a thud-thud-thud thud untill it hits about 10 mph then it comes and goes randomly but most severe around 35-40 mph thats where the vibration and hesatation starts but its only when i gas it otherwise its fine. It has had regular fluid changes. We dont want to lose this truck with so low mileage either. the truck usually idles for 5-6 hours at a time, and friday night it has to make a 40 mile trip to chichago and back (roughly the mileage form the shop to the city from my location.)the distributor cap is tight wires and plugs are about 2 months old and had about 1000 miles on the plugs the front end was just re-built ball joints etc.. it has newer front tires i have a good feeling its a coil so i have 3 quiestions
1. How bad is it for the motor to drive on it like this
2. Is there a coil for each cylender or is there just one
3. Is it even the coil
4. wouldnt the Service eng. light come on
thanks
