Ford Econoline There's more to the Econoline's staying power than Ford simply sticking with a product that has been the No. 1-selling full-size van since 1980. The Econoline has received only minor changes over the years. The result is a cargo van that looks different, but is still very much the same. For many E-Series customers, that is the best news of all.

Question No Horn 1994 E150

We just bought a used Conversion van. It has no horn what-so-ever!
They totally jumbled the wiring when they installed the alarm system and presumably the stereo. I bought a horn, but the problem is, it comes with minimal instructions (ie: attach to old horn wires). First off, where the heck would I find the wires? Second, where do I put the actual horn???
I tried the Chilton guide, but it has squat about horns or even where they go!
Help PLEASE! ASAP, as I have to take it through NJ inspection VERY soon and it will not pass without a horn!!

I am no expert, but also just bought a 96 E150, 2 things, # 1 the horn relay is under the hood inside the drivers side fender, there are two relays next to each other, it is the one closest to the front of the vehicle or your right, the next thing could be the clock spring behind the airbag inside the steering wheel (if your van has an airbag) use caution taking the airbag out? search on here or get better advice, you could also try a jumper wire directly to the horn to make sure it works? the horn fuse is inside the fuse box under the hood, it is a 15 amp (blue) on left sdie of fuse box.

Good luck, it can get aggrevating chasing some of these things out

Thanks a bunch!
We totally ran out of time, so ended up bypassing the huge mess of wires and just installing a horn button. Found the horn just inside the front bumper area, but since some idget made a huge mess of the wiring we could not repair that in time for inspection.
The airbags are screwed up anyways. The guy claims it was never in an accident, but I am seriously starting to wonder.
I called Ford, to find out how much it would be, for them to JUST look at the airbags and tell me what was wrong with it (and hopefully get a quote to repair it)... $108.00!!! Yeah uhm nevermind! I never really liked airbags anyways!!
Thank you, for taking the time to read and reply to my post.
Tanya
PS: Know anyone who does cheap Ford wiring??

justing finding out where everything is the biggest thing?? I have not been able to find a book on my 96 yet? I guess I'll check online. I bought my van from Michigan, alot of road salt and rust underneath it, my horn relay had corroded and shorted out, I fixed that problem, but still have a hazard light problem?? good luck. I think only the dealers can retrieve the airbag codes, I know autozone wont touch them?? you could have a bad clockspring? it is beneath the airbag and streeing wheel?

Smile manual

Assuming your's is also an E150, here's the direct link to the manual:

Just in case you have issues with that one, here's the link I got it from:
https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenan...ls/results.asp

Hope that helps.
