Ford Econoline There's more to the Econoline's staying power than Ford simply sticking with a product that has been the No. 1-selling full-size van since 1980. The Econoline has received only minor changes over the years. The result is a cargo van that looks different, but is still very much the same. For many E-Series customers, that is the best news of all.

Cool 2004 Econoline Cruise Control Conundrum?
The cruise control on our 2004 e150 Econoline works intermittently. Sometimes it comes on, sometimes not. Any ideas, guidance would be very appreciated! Also, is there supposed to be a light on the dash that indicates that the cruise control is on? (We just got this van a couple of weeks ago and aren't totally familiar with it.)

Check the positioning of the brake light switch. If it is adjusted bad or if the switch is bad the cruise wont work. The light only comes on when the cruise is engaged.

I know on my car if the cruise doesnt work I can stick my foot under the brake pedal and pull it up and then the cruise will work.

They also have a brake pressure switch on or near the mastercylinder which may or may not have a recal on it.Call your local dealer with the vin number to find out.
