Ford EconolineThere's more to the Econoline's staying power than Ford simply sticking with a product that has been the No. 1-selling full-size van since 1980. The Econoline has received only minor changes over the years. The result is a cargo van that looks different, but is still very much the same. For many E-Series customers, that is the best news of all.
I have an 1988 Ford E350 Clubwagon that sat all winter and now white smoke comes out of the front vents. I had AAMCO look at it, but they couldn't get it to smoke (doesn't sound like they drove it very far). They hypothesized that it could be a bad heater core and that the fumes could be lethally toxic. But they admitted it was really speculation as they didn't get it smoking.
The transmission is slippery, if that has anything to do with it.
Can anybody tell me what my smoke might be and how dangerous it could potentially be to me or my vehicle?
If anyone is going to propose a fix. I don't care if it has heat or AC. I just don't want to expose anyone driving it to harmful fumes, and I want to avoid letting anything grow into major functional problems.
