Ford Econoline There's more to the Econoline's staying power than Ford simply sticking with a product that has been the No. 1-selling full-size van since 1980. The Econoline has received only minor changes over the years. The result is a cargo van that looks different, but is still very much the same. For many E-Series customers, that is the best news of all.

Default Speaker cover replacement?

Hi --

I picked up my "new" used 2006 E350 passenger van today; I plan to pull the seats and make a simple camper van.

First, though, I'm cleaning it up, and discovered that the speaker cover on the side door is badly cracked. I assume that I can just pop it off, and replace it.

Ford will charge an arm and leg for a new plastic cover -- can anyone recommend an online or discount source for interior trim parts?

I'm also discovering other odds and ends missing, like the 90-degree swing stops for the rear doors. I suspect I will have to buy those from Ford.

Tomorrow's task: buy the correct size Torx socket (I believe T60) and remove the seats and seat belts, and then Clean, Clean, clean!

thanks,
Torks97

Hey Torks97,
It's Torx T-50 for the seat belts.

For spare parts: "Say Hello To My Little Friend(s)"

Check out your local junk yard.
Ford wanted $176 for the weatherstripping around ONE rear cargo door. I got the weatherstripping for BOTH the rear doors from the bottom van pictured above. Cost $20.
One of the best things about a Ford van is how the parts stay the same from year to year. My van is a 1999. The donor van is 2006.
There is one downside. I passed on the drivers side kick panel from the top van, It might have been coffee or it might have been chocolate but I'm pretty sure what was on it was blood.

Thanks, WVFord!

Yep, I figure that once it cools below triple digits here (TX), I'll start hunting around salvage yards for stuff.

And thanks for the sizing for the torx for the seatbelts. I used a T55 today for the seat brackets; tomorrow I'll pick up a T50 for the seat belts.
