Ford Econoline There's more to the Econoline's staying power than Ford simply sticking with a product that has been the No. 1-selling full-size van since 1980. The Econoline has received only minor changes over the years. The result is a cargo van that looks different, but is still very much the same. For many E-Series customers, that is the best news of all.

Default What is that thing?

Hi All,
Excuse my ignorance but I was crawling under my van (1999 E250) and saw this:

This is the view from the back with the bumper removed.
Attached to inside of the left frame, on the other side of the first cross member is a round canister maybe 5"x14" long with rubber hoses going to it.

If I was to make a guess I'd think it might have something to do with fuel vapors but just a guess.

(On a completely different subject, I notice that when I type in "vapors" it gets underlined by the forum software like it's misspelled. If you spell it the English way "vapours" it doesn't mind.)
