Ford Econoline There's more to the Econoline's staying power than Ford simply sticking with a product that has been the No. 1-selling full-size van since 1980. The Econoline has received only minor changes over the years. The result is a cargo van that looks different, but is still very much the same. For many E-Series customers, that is the best news of all.

Default 03 E250 sway problem

I had a tire blow and replaced 2 rear tires with exact brand and size.(Dunlop E-rated). The front tires have about 30,000 miles, mostly highway. Now when driving down the road above 55mph, the rear sways a great deal. Can anyone please give me a clue as to my next step. By the way, I run the front at 60psi and rear at 70psi. I used to run rears at 80psi, could this be the problem?
Thanks for any help.

Would like to resolve before state trooper has me pulled over taking sobriety tests.

Stiffer sidewalls, and lower profile will give less sway, than higher softer ones.
I think you already know this.

I can't comment on the particular tires that you have, nor make specific recomendations.

We really need more information about the brand, size, and composition of both the front and rear tires. The only time I've had trouble like what you describe was years ago when I ran bias ply mudders on the back and radials on the front. It could be differences in the tread patterns, but will need more info to be sure.

Is it a bad sign when the van seats more than the camper sleeps?
