4.9L to 5.0L swap

has anyone converted a 89 4.9L to a 5.0L?

im mostly concerned about the wiring part. aren't the 4.9L and 5.0L engine mounts in the same location? as well as the transmission being interchangeable?

hmmm...Why are you trying to do a swap anyway? Fuel efficiency? From what I understand the 5.0 isnt much more fuel efficient than the 4.9. Im sorry, im not trying to bash you or anything, Im just interested in swaps in econolines...how would you pull out the motor out anyway? Do you have to drop it from the bottom? In for more info...

i would pull the upper intake off and pull it out the front. but im doing the swap in the future because the 4.9 has a slight knock to it, and i can pick up 5.0's all day long for cheap. plus they have a lot better aftermarket than the 4.9L.

i love the 4.9L, but it would be better if they had forged internals for them so i could slap about 16 psi of boost in it.

So you pull the motor out from the front? Im guessing you have to remove the front end, including bumper, grille, radiator, rad. support? Damn, that's a lot! lol
