Ford Econoline There's more to the Econoline's staying power than Ford simply sticking with a product that has been the No. 1-selling full-size van since 1980. The Econoline has received only minor changes over the years. The result is a cargo van that looks different, but is still very much the same. For many E-Series customers, that is the best news of all.

Default 1993 e150 Radiator

I have a 1993 E150 w/ 4.9L. I am replacing the radiator tomorrow. Besides the 2 trans cooler lines at the bottom of the radiator there is a 3rd hose on the drivers side that transitions from rubber hose to steel line back to rubber hose before connected to a tee at the top of motor. Exactly what is this line and is it really needed. It goes into the bottom drivers side of radiator by the drain plug but there is not a matching return line so I am failing to see what purpose it serves. I looked at several replacement radiators and none seem to account for it. I found a reference to it possibly being a water heater bypass hose but not sure. Anyone who can help I would greatly appreciate it. Also my speedometer doesnt work and no mileage reading on the electronic display. All other gauges working fine. Van shifts hard, could this all be related
