Ford Econoline There's more to the Econoline's staying power than Ford simply sticking with a product that has been the No. 1-selling full-size van since 1980. The Econoline has received only minor changes over the years. The result is a cargo van that looks different, but is still very much the same. For many E-Series customers, that is the best news of all.

rent for free ? lol I need a house like that.

Anyway the last van i workrd on had a hole wore in the red supply line right in front of the enine where it splices into the black line. You could hear the leak with the engine running.Access to a smoke machine is a big help also but not many folks do.

Oh boy... a literate mechanic! It must drive you nuts when people confuse the proper spelling of: there/their, and to/too/two, or make confusing statements like "starts but won't turn over"

You know me well and it's only been a couple months. Very observant!
Not too sure about literate, I need/use spell-checker and Grammar checker a lot. LOL
BTW: I'm not a REAL mechanic, no ASE certifications.....

just think of it in Parts Per Million...:

Had a van in a couple weeks ago, similar problem: no modes.
Found vacuum supply line pinched somewhere near/under the evap case. Had vacuum at reservoir, but not inside cabin. Ran a new 24" section of hose and all was well.

Thanks for your help. I found the tank. The vacuum tank is located under the right frame rail at a point near the middle of the passenger door. My tank holds vacuum and the check valve seems fine. Still haven't had time to locate any leaks in lines. I did find that vacuum leaks down when engine is shut off. Believe it is from a line leaking. I do get vacuum on red line in front of engine up to point where it connects to black line.
