Ford Econoline There's more to the Econoline's staying power than Ford simply sticking with a product that has been the No. 1-selling full-size van since 1980. The Econoline has received only minor changes over the years. The result is a cargo van that looks different, but is still very much the same. For many E-Series customers, that is the best news of all.

Default Air Bag Light, HELP!
Help! My air bag light is flickering on and off in my 96 e-250 van. It has 137,000 on it and has the 4.9l with auto transmission. Has anyone else had this problem and how did you fix it?

I have a 97 e250 5.4 and my airbag light came on and it ended up locking my transmission in park when i started it. After some common sense trouble shooting, eg;safty netural switch, fluid, linkedge worn. On the side of I75 I had to call a FORD Dealer and have it towed there. Well after about a hour of 4, yes four mechanics staring at my trans 1 of them looked at the (FUSE BOX) and found that the fuse for my brake light is what caused this. So it ended up that a .29 cent fuse cost me over $150 (HIO)d.
I would suggest that you go through your fuses and change them all.
Oh and thanks FORD for the knowledge and the bill!
