Ford Econoline There's more to the Econoline's staying power than Ford simply sticking with a product that has been the No. 1-selling full-size van since 1980. The Econoline has received only minor changes over the years. The result is a cargo van that looks different, but is still very much the same. For many E-Series customers, that is the best news of all.

Default C6 or not?

Hi guys
Got probably one of the stupidest questions you've ever heard around here but I'm in need of some info. My folks have a 71 or a 72 E350 camper van with a 302 2v, C6, and a Dana 60. I've been questioned as to whether it in all actuality came from the factory with a C6. I worked on the unit a long time ago and would swere that it had a C6, but I'm being told that the C6 didn't come behind a 302 2v untill much latter. Any clarification on this is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

PS; The vehicle is 1100 miles away so climbing under it to visually check the pan ain't an option.

Al

I used to have a 74 E 350 custom with the C6 behind a 302. By custom I mean E 350 chassi with a box on the back. probably much like what you are talking about.

So yes it is pos that its a C6.
