Ford EconolineThere's more to the Econoline's staying power than Ford simply sticking with a product that has been the No. 1-selling full-size van since 1980. The Econoline has received only minor changes over the years. The result is a cargo van that looks different, but is still very much the same. For many E-Series customers, that is the best news of all.
I have a 1997 e150 that wanders all over the road. I've seen many, many Ford vans with what appears to be a poor front suspension(just look at the front wheels when you are next to one). What is the problem with these vans and whats the remedy? I've checked for looseness in the front susp. and replaced a tie rod end which did nothing. It definetly needs an alignment. I am very mechanically inclined and know all of the 'check this' or 'check that' stuff. I'm looking for some one who knows what's going on with these vans and knows the fix. Thanks to all
I just adjusted my gear box or steering box, if you have a lot of side to side play in the steering wheel then this is your problem. It will feel like your driving a bus. Check for broken gear box bolts through the frame if any snapped then you will get the same feel.
