Ford EconolineThere's more to the Econoline's staying power than Ford simply sticking with a product that has been the No. 1-selling full-size van since 1980. The Econoline has received only minor changes over the years. The result is a cargo van that looks different, but is still very much the same. For many E-Series customers, that is the best news of all.
Is this a pain in the rear, or are they pretty easy to get to?
I have a '01 5.4 V8.
It just started to miss a little, usually around 70-75 mph.
I travel alot on interstates, and it seems to just miss, when pulling a hill or slight incline.
I bought it for hauling our motocross bikes to races, and it had 108,000 miles when I got it. It's now around 130,000 and I don't know if it's ever been tuned up.
Pick a day when you have nothing to do and are feeling pretty good, use a sparkplug wrench with good rubber grip you will need some uni joints extentions different sizes and patience. It sucks but wait for an error code and get that read, There is a coil per cyl and they run about 50 bucks EACH so I would wait get an error code replace coil if needed and then all the plugs, cause it sucks changing them.

PS: That's probably where your miss fire is, since the heater core hoses leak right on top of that ign. module! Boy I remember my first one! BY THE WAY- THANK YOU LEATHERNECKS!!!!!!!!!!!
