Ford Econoline There's more to the Econoline's staying power than Ford simply sticking with a product that has been the No. 1-selling full-size van since 1980. The Econoline has received only minor changes over the years. The result is a cargo van that looks different, but is still very much the same. For many E-Series customers, that is the best news of all.

Default Buying a 94 E250 Questions

Hello wondering if you can tell me some things to look for when buying a used van. Also any problems I need to look for in the future. Thanks

look at the miles, see if the odometer works, ask for a service record, look underneath for rust. check under hood and inside truck for body repair indicating major collision, test drive, beat the shit out of it, if it runs like shit lower your offer. If's a 6 cyl van you may want to pass it up. Check battery, coolant, oil, trans fluid, if they're old and shitty, lower your offer. Just keep bringing up problems with the van (that the current owner may not even know about) and then keep talking the person down. How much you payin? $500-$1000 for a 94 sounds good unless it's a rare specimen.

I've heard some people say the 6 cylinder is too small for a larger van, but I know of at least one person who's had one go 300k with no troubles. Do you have specific reasons for staying away from a 6 cylinder van?

the 300" 6 cylinder was a great motor, I personally favor that motor over 302's any day. They get decent mileage, have TONS of tourqe, and last forever.
