Ford Econoline There's more to the Econoline's staying power than Ford simply sticking with a product that has been the No. 1-selling full-size van since 1980. The Econoline has received only minor changes over the years. The result is a cargo van that looks different, but is still very much the same. For many E-Series customers, that is the best news of all.

Default Trailer Hitch ?

I just got a 2006 E-150 with the 4.6 engine. I need to install a trailer hitch to pull a 2500lb boat.. The hitch it self looks simple enough, but the wiring is another issue. Is there a plug or connector that I can plug into or do I need to splice into the wires in the harness going to the rear of the van? Any help would be appreciated. Bruce

only thing I can suggest is to ask the dealer if there is a wiring harness for a tow package.
My 2007 E250 came with towing package, oil cooler, tranny cooler etc.
If you splice into the wiring it may cause the turn signals to blink faster requiring a HD flasher. check here to see if you vehicle need to be "hardwired" or put user info into the Hitch Hunter option and see what footnotes arise...PR...
