Ford Econoline There's more to the Econoline's staying power than Ford simply sticking with a product that has been the No. 1-selling full-size van since 1980. The Econoline has received only minor changes over the years. The result is a cargo van that looks different, but is still very much the same. For many E-Series customers, that is the best news of all.

Default Which diesel engine is better?

I have a 96 mod. E-350 with the 7.3 liter turbodiesel engine. Want to buy a newer E-350 with the 6.0 liter turbodiesel engine. I have been extremely satisfied with my car, but I have heard this new engine is not as trouble-free as the old 7.3 liter.... Correct or not?

the 6.ol has alot of electical problems and injector problems. it has alot more torque and power.
the 7.3l old reliable, as long as you keep up the mantaince and do not cheep on the repairs its a very good engine. I have worked on both I find the 7.3l is so basic than the 6.ol is a nightmare (flat rate to change the fan belt 2 hours). also the 7.3l may take time to get up to the speed with a heavy load but it will do it. I have seen the 7.3l with 300,000 km to 500,000 km with no problems. I have seen the 6.ol with 180,000 km and had 28 injectors replaced so fare.
