Ford Econoline There's more to the Econoline's staying power than Ford simply sticking with a product that has been the No. 1-selling full-size van since 1980. The Econoline has received only minor changes over the years. The result is a cargo van that looks different, but is still very much the same. For many E-Series customers, that is the best news of all.

Default E-250 wheel size choices

I want to install rims and wheels from a F250 truck on my '03 E-250 extended cargo van.
The reason is I want to go to a larger tire size.
I know this will effect speedometer accuracy but are there other problems I'm not considering?
Obviousy fit is an issue but with the stock 16" wheels there is lot's of room for larger tires.
I think 17" wheels will work and I am also considering 18" x 8".
your thoughts?
thanks,

Newer F250 wheels will not work, they are 170mm bolt circle compared to the e250 van which are 165.1mm or 6 1/2. You have very limited room in the front wheel to fender clearance. When turning the rear part of the tire comes very close to the fender at the door hinge side. This cause a big problem for using wider than stock wheels. 265/75/16`s will just about squeek by providing your suspension hasn`t sagged yet.

A short time ago I was running American racing Mohaves with Toyo AT`s. 245/75/16E.
I am trying something different currently. I have 2- 16X8 wheels with 275/70/16`s which are 31.2 in diameter and 2- 18X9 wheel which will have 285/60/18 Nitto terra grapplers which are 31.3 diameter and not enough spread to upset ABS.

another thing to consider is wheel offset and back spacing up front. stock is around 4.75in. so a wheel with 4.5 backspacing will work if you keep it at 8 inch rim width...
Hope this was helpfull. I`ll know more in a few weeks bc I`m waiting for the rear wheels to arrive...PR...
