Ford Econoline There's more to the Econoline's staying power than Ford simply sticking with a product that has been the No. 1-selling full-size van since 1980. The Econoline has received only minor changes over the years. The result is a cargo van that looks different, but is still very much the same. For many E-Series customers, that is the best news of all.

Default vibration at speed

This is the 3rd E250 I've had with a vibration at 60km on to 100km a hour. The 2000 van was replaced with a 2001 (Ford Canada/ Dealer effort) after it could not be traced or fixed, I was with a loaner for over 3 weeks. The 2001 had the same vibration at the same speeds, but was almost undetectable. I've just taken delivery of a new 2007 E250, and it has a big vibration that starts at about 60km/h and continues beyond 110km/h. Wheel balance has been checked twice. Now the dealer wants to try another set of wheels and tires to see if the vibration goes away. (The tires are Hankook, the worst tire I've ever driven on. Very hard and very slippery on the wet.) I don't think it's a tire problem. On another forum I saw a posting about a person that has had vibration problems on several different E250s. What is the problem with these vans????

Default vibration

New drive shaft ordered. The dealer said that the factory shaft was marked for weights, but not all were installed. Hope that's it.

It was not the drive shaft. They pulled it out and replaced it with no tests to find a fault. I finally took it to a pro driveline shop, my coin, after the selling dealer tech got grease all over my new van seat and seatbelt. They checked the drive line, all OK..........but THE TIRES wobbled like old wagon wheels!!!! I booked with another Ford dealer to have the tires checked and replaced.
