Ford Edge It seems that the days of the big boxy SUV might be numbered (at least temporarily). In the meantime, consumers are flocking to vehicles with SUV functionality and sedanlike handling characteristics. Ford's first attempt to hop aboard the "crossover utility vehicle" (CUV) bandwagon came in the form of the lackluster Freestyle.

My wife loves her new edge so I would definitely recommend at least a test drive and they are way affordable compared with the VW Toureg. (I was really disappointed with VW and not offering any finance deals )

Good luck in your new car search and let us know what you get/find.

If somebody would have told me 2 years ago i'd be a died-in-the-wool Dodge/Cummins fan and owner I'd have said they were crazy. So, having a Ford in the stable isn't that far outside the realm of possibilties. I'm keeping an open mind.
When you visit the Ford dealer remember to look at both their crossovers, the Edge and the Taurus X. While the Edge is more stylish, the Taurus X is lighter with the same powertrain and 3 rows of seats that will actually hold 7 adults. You may have to specifically ask to see the Taurus X since Ford seem to be hiding it.

Hi, I'm knew to the post. I've been doing research on the Freestyle because I have brought my 2005 Freestyle into the shop for the 4th time due to a water leaks. presently, my cargo area is soaked and moldy. The Freestyle posts, which are numerous I add, say the problem is with the moon roof drainage tubes, yet, it is believed that these are a design flaw and Ford can't fix it. Yeah, 31,000 on the car and everytime it rains, I get water and mold. Nice! My question is this: Does anyone know if the Taurus X has this same problem. If it wasn't redesigned and it doesn't look like it, does anyone have water issues.

Haha yeah I hear you about the gas mileage. I think we will be getting rid of the Edge once the lease is up. Only getting about 19mpg which is crappy compared to some cars that get 30+. So sad too, I really like the Edge, maybe they will make some improvements in the future and increase the MPG.
