Ford Edge It seems that the days of the big boxy SUV might be numbered (at least temporarily). In the meantime, consumers are flocking to vehicles with SUV functionality and sedanlike handling characteristics. Ford's first attempt to hop aboard the "crossover utility vehicle" (CUV) bandwagon came in the form of the lackluster Freestyle.

Thumbs down Power Liftgate is broken

This is the second time in the three months the power liftgate has broken. The first time it fixed itself after a day, but now it is broken again. It will raise but will not lower. I close it manually, then when I lock the car it double beeps as if a door is still open. If its not one thng its another....

I'm assuming you're talking about your Edge, but from your name, maybe it's an Explorer. What is it, and what year is it?

It's my 2008 Ford Edge. I have had four Explorers though and loved them all. I had a '93 '01 '05 and '06. The power tailgate worked this morning. I am not sure what is going on with it.

If it's an '08, shouldn't it still be under warranty?
