2002 Escape 6 Disc Changer

Hi everyone, I'm new to the site. My name is Joe. I just purchased a 2002 Escape but didn't know until after the purchase that the 6 disc cd changer does not work. What happens is the display shows all six slots are full. When I hit the eject button the display asks which disc you want to eject. The problem is anyone of them I pick will then display the disc number I chose flashing for a few seconds and then displays disc error and does not eject anything. Am I doing something wrong? By the way, the radio works fine and sounds great.

Sounds like you need to buy a new radio. It sounds like something inside the radio is messed up. I would check ebay and buy a new one.

yes, Rtisher is right. If you hit the dashboard with your fist, it will eject the CDs. Not a solution though it works.

i own a 2002 ford escape too. i bought it in 2002. My 6 disk changer is doing the same thing. I use to unplug it for 1 or 2 hours. Then plug it back in and it would reset itself. Well it stop reseting it self. Now i just have a radio with 6 cd in my disk changer stuck. Any one know a trick to get it back working again.
