Ford Escape The Ford Escape has been thoroughly updated, reinforcing the character and appeal that have made it America's perennial best-selling small sport-utility vehicle. The improvements nearly cover the spectrum, and inject a new level of refinement. We'd call the Escape a little truck among small SUVs. Its new styling deliberately invokes Ford's larger, truck-based SUVs.

Default 2002 Ford Escape problems

I have a 2002 Ford Escape leaking power steering fluid.Just wondering if anybody has had the same problem, not sure if it is the pressure hose,or return hose.I've been trying to find a display of the whole steering system, but no luck finding the right website.Anybody have any info that could help?

I am having the same problem with mine. I am going to put some dye in my power steering reservoir to hopefully pin-point the leak. Good luck and I'll let ya know what I find....

The return hose will be rubber with a clamps the pressure hoses will be metal.

I wouldn't put dye in it, it might cause a seal to go bad and then you'd have another leak.
Use Engine Gunk and clean your engine compartment paying attention to your power steering parts.
Afterwards drive for a day or so and check for leaks.
