Ford Escape The Ford Escape has been thoroughly updated, reinforcing the character and appeal that have made it America's perennial best-selling small sport-utility vehicle. The improvements nearly cover the spectrum, and inject a new level of refinement. We'd call the Escape a little truck among small SUVs. Its new styling deliberately invokes Ford's larger, truck-based SUVs.

Default 08 escape stereo?

Has anyone done anything with the stereo in an 08 escape? I am looking for info on the factory subwoofer location? Does anyone have a clue were ford puts it? I am going to try and use the same location to put a subwoofer in mine! Already put new speakers in all 4 doors. Needs a little more! What has everyone else done?

There should be two holes on the side of the radio. Take radio removing tools or I used clothes hange and pop them in there. You need to press the clips out. The radio should slide out. Once out you will need to but a seperate aux hook up and hook it up the back of the radio. You will need to search for the wiring diagram for your radio. You need to find +, -, left speaker, right speaker.

Not in the 08. In the 08 the radio is all encased in the dash, and the readout is on top of the dash. I have never taken mine out, but in the 08 it is completely different from ANY of the other years. You can not even see the radio itself as it is all encased.

the top of dash display unit needs to be removed first. it removes straight out, as if you were to pull torwards the back of the vehicle. just use your fingers to pry them loose, or very carefully use a tool to pry it open. once complete, you will have access to two screws that need to be removed before you can take out the radio
