Ford Escape The Ford Escape has been thoroughly updated, reinforcing the character and appeal that have made it America's perennial best-selling small sport-utility vehicle. The improvements nearly cover the spectrum, and inject a new level of refinement. We'd call the Escape a little truck among small SUVs. Its new styling deliberately invokes Ford's larger, truck-based SUVs.

Question Ford 2008 ESCAPE air conditioner problem

I have a 2008 Ford Escape which has developed a problem with the air conditioner. In the morning and on cool days it comes on just fine but if left in the heat for a while it does not come on. I took it to the Ford dealer a number of times and they cannot find the problem. Last time they say they found an intermittent open circuit AC guage and replaced replaced the HVAC control head and re-programmed. It worked when I left the shop and the next morning and when I left for lunch. When I left work at the end of the day it did not come on and only hot air came from the vents. Any ideas as to what could be the problem. I'm thinking the ECM or one of the switches off of the ECM that needs to be activated to get the compresser to turn on.

Thanks;
