| Oil change for 2006 Escape LTD I retired my 96 Explorer Sport to the scrap metal yard, and purchased a used 2006 Escape LTD. I have gone through the manual and it doesn't have nearly as much service information as my old Explorer manual did.
Such things as how much oil to put in the engine when you do an oil change. My Explorer not only had that in the manual, but also printed inside the engine compartment. What is up with the Escape?
I don't know if the Canadian version of the SUV is any different than the US. From googleing, I found someone saying 6 quarts? But I have to wonder as my Explorer that had a 4.0L engine only took 5, so I don't want to over fill.
I have read about putting in 5W30 Synthetic, and as I don't have any warrenty left, I have no issue with using this viscosity. Synthetic has a better life, so that will more than offset the difference in viscosity between 5w20.
Any help on how much I will need is much appreciated.
