Ford EscapeThe Ford Escape has been thoroughly updated, reinforcing the character and appeal that have made it America's perennial best-selling small sport-utility vehicle. The improvements nearly cover the spectrum, and inject a new level of refinement. We'd call the Escape a little truck among small SUVs. Its new styling deliberately invokes Ford's larger, truck-based SUVs.
I have a 2008 Ford Edge which I have had for just over 1 month. It is a great vehicle except for the cloth seats. I have the black cloth seats and have noticed a white powdery substance on them. I tried to wipe them with a damp cloth with a touch of soap and now I have stains on the seat. Can anyone tell me how to remove the stain? Thanks ..Bob
Have any of you guys tried a carpet type cleaner, you know like a "Little Green Clean Machine?
I have a Kirby and used the Kirby carpet cleaner solution with great results. When you use the cleaner solution you use only the foam. When it dries you just vacuum it off. I would test on a small piece of fabric first.

I have the same problem I have grey and brown cloth seats and just sitting on them I have white marks all over....it is very frustrating....dealership doesn't seem to care. Where are the marks coming from? I have a blanket on back seat and I looked for seat covers but you can't with air bags at side of seat
I'm in the process of buying a 2008 XLT and noticed the "rain drop stains" on the seats. I would have thought that Ford would have done something after all the problems with the 04 F150 cloth seats. My 04 was horrible for water drop stains. I have covers on the 150 and for my daughter's Escape I'll probably get them also.
I took the car back to the local Ford dealer. It was then sent to the detailing shop where the seat was shampooed/cleaned. After a thorough drying the stains/ powerdery marks were gone! Hats off to my local Ford Dealer.
Since my 2008 Ford Edge is less than 2 months old, I felt it should be covered under the 3 yr bumper to bumper warranty, not so much the fact that my local Ford dealer did the work :-) I am a happy camper though that they did!
I have the same problem too. I have been using carpet cleaners and upholstery stain removers but the stains are still there in my '08 Escape light beige seats. I hope someone could come up with the best solution on how to remove these stains which is annoying as days go by.
Same Problem. '08 Escape (Love It!), light beige seats....3 kids,,,what else do I need to say. Bought the car 4 mos ago, have some stains,,some come out and when they do they leave that ring,,,I've used an apolestry cleaner,,,It's just annoying
