Ford Escape The Ford Escape has been thoroughly updated, reinforcing the character and appeal that have made it America's perennial best-selling small sport-utility vehicle. The improvements nearly cover the spectrum, and inject a new level of refinement. We'd call the Escape a little truck among small SUVs. Its new styling deliberately invokes Ford's larger, truck-based SUVs.

Default Backlights burnt out, or never there?

I have a used 4WD '06 XLT. I have noticed that the cruise switches and the dash dimmer switches don't have backlights. I'm wondering if they are burned out, or Ford just didn't backlight them. Anyone???

Seems to me that they should be lit. My '00 Explorer had them backlit.

Anybody here with an '06 Escape that can tell me for sure???

Thanks for the positive ID. I'm used to the layout from years of driving an Explorer, so I guess I'll just feel my way around in the dark. You'd think for a few cents they could have dropped a couple LEDs in there... ah, it's a Ford, I shouldn't expect too much.
