| Sound System Wackiness I have a 2003 XLT with the MACH 6-CD changer audio head unit. Lately my sound system has been acting up after the system has been operating for a while. The most annoying malfunction is that the system will set the BALANCE all the way over to the left channel and will keep returning it to that setting even after I try to correct it. The display will also cycle randomly through the various settings (BASS, TREBLE, FADE, BALANCE, normal, etc.). Has anyone else had this problem? What did you have to do to fix it?
Any help or comments would be greatly appreciated. |

| Not quite the same problem... I have a 2005 XLT and I have some annoying sound issues. It's hard to tell on conventional radio, but on CD and even on Satellite, I notice the bass and maybe the mid dropping out.
It drives me nuts because nothing make music sound worse than no mid or bass. I tried to get the radio replaced under warranty and the dealership told me that it was a known issue. That kinda sounded like BS to me. I was hoping to find some help here.
However, my levels (balance, fade, bass, mid, treble) all stay set to the same setting...that is, I'm not having the same problem you are. The display always reads the same thing. |

| There are 2 pads that seperate the bottom board from the bottom metal cover. When these units get hot these pads become conductive. And make the ic think a button is being push. |
