Ford Escape The Ford Escape has been thoroughly updated, reinforcing the character and appeal that have made it America's perennial best-selling small sport-utility vehicle. The improvements nearly cover the spectrum, and inject a new level of refinement. We'd call the Escape a little truck among small SUVs. Its new styling deliberately invokes Ford's larger, truck-based SUVs.

Default 02 escape dead miss on #4 and 6

hey guys i work at a local shop in va. i recently did a basic tune up plugs fuel filter and valve cover gaskets on an 02 escape with the 3.0 dohc motor. after putting everything back together checked all electrical and vaccum hoses to make sure everything was hooked up the way if came off i started the truck. too make a long story short the truck ran fine before the tune up filter and gaskets. now it has a dead miss on cylinders 4 and 6. im getting fire and fuel in those 2 cylinders but still have a dead miss. went on to replace the upper and lower intake gaskets same problem. any thought as to what could be my problem?

Had a problem with cylinder 4 on my 02. Tried replacing fuel injector, but no help. Turned out to be a failing coil, had spark, but not enough. Bought a new set on e-bay, now works fine.

Check your coil. Make sure that you didn't cross the plug wires.
The lugs on the coil pack are numbered.
