Ford EscapeThe Ford Escape has been thoroughly updated, reinforcing the character and appeal that have made it America's perennial best-selling small sport-utility vehicle. The improvements nearly cover the spectrum, and inject a new level of refinement. We'd call the Escape a little truck among small SUVs. Its new styling deliberately invokes Ford's larger, truck-based SUVs.
I was a little worried about transmission problems that some have had but bought it anyway. The new 09 has the new 6 speed automatic so maybe they've improved it. I did notice that cruising at 65 mph the tachometer is at 2000 rpms which is pretty low for a 4 cylinder. Yes, I bought a 4 cylinder automatic. It has the sun & sync, leather comfort package. Rides great and quiet too. We are happy with our choice but time will tell how happy. It's white with camel interior.
Replaced a 2000 Toyota Rav4 that hurt our backs after riding 50+ miles. The Rav4 is loud and rides rough also. Big improvement over that.
Thought I'd post it here. I am new here want to share how things go with it.
