Ford EscapeThe Ford Escape has been thoroughly updated, reinforcing the character and appeal that have made it America's perennial best-selling small sport-utility vehicle. The improvements nearly cover the spectrum, and inject a new level of refinement. We'd call the Escape a little truck among small SUVs. Its new styling deliberately invokes Ford's larger, truck-based SUVs.
My brand new 09 Escape I bought was sitting on the car lot for probably all of this past winter beside some trees that dropped little seed-like balls. When we turned on the air vents and blew it on #3 or #4 (top speed of the fan), it blew out those little balls all over the interior. I opened up the hood and vacuumed out what I could, took it back to the dealer and told them the cabin air filter must not be in. They told me there is no cabin air filter in an Escape. They blew out everything and gave it back to me. Has anyone else had this? Is there supposed to be an air filter in the Escape?
