Ford Escape The Ford Escape has been thoroughly updated, reinforcing the character and appeal that have made it America's perennial best-selling small sport-utility vehicle. The improvements nearly cover the spectrum, and inject a new level of refinement. We'd call the Escape a little truck among small SUVs. Its new styling deliberately invokes Ford's larger, truck-based SUVs.

I quit smoking +38 years ago but I was wondering, where have they hidden the ash tray and cigerette lighter on the '09 Escape? Be darn if I can locate it! Nothing in the rear passenger area either!!

The manual say Cigarette Lighter(if equipped).

I haven't seen an ashtray or cigarette lighter in a vehicle in many years. It's an accessory option with an ash holder can that goes in one of the cup holders, and the lighter goes in the 12 v plug. That line that states "if equipped" should really read as "if you paid extra for it" .

If you check the accessory brochure you'll see a picture of it.

Thanks! I Googled it and found this: 2009 Ford Flex Smokers Pack. Must be the same for the Escape.

yup that is it.

I don't smoke but I wouldn't mind the smoker's pack because I like the little can, it looks handy for holding loose things. You never know when you might need a heat source in an emergency either.

Actually that picture is wrong! That part number is for the cup only and not the lighter. The part number for both is 5L87-780-4810-BAA. The cup only is 5L87-780-4810-AAA. I may get one too.
