A/C and Hybrid?

I can't find the post now, but is it true that the air conditioning does not function under battery power on the Hybrid? It must run the gasoline engine if you want to run the air conditioning?

True on the Hybrid Escape.

The soon to be released Hybrid Fusion has electric A/C. Of course this runs the battery down much quicker, so the time spent driving on battery power is greatly reduced. Extended idling (traffic jam) with the A/C on will eventually cause the engine to start.

That is what I thought. I wonder if they will plan to release the AC that the Fusion Hybrid will have into the Escape.

Eventually. I haven't had lunch with any of the hybrid engineers in several months so I don't know when Escape get the full 2.0 system. It could be a couple of years.
