Ford Escape The Ford Escape has been thoroughly updated, reinforcing the character and appeal that have made it America's perennial best-selling small sport-utility vehicle. The improvements nearly cover the spectrum, and inject a new level of refinement. We'd call the Escape a little truck among small SUVs. Its new styling deliberately invokes Ford's larger, truck-based SUVs.

Default 2003 Escape Limited

Hi,

I am looking at a 2003 Escape Limited right now...the only thing holding me back from buying it is it has 75,000 miles on it. The dealer said I could buy an extended warranty for it.. My sister keeps telling me that cars aren't even broke in anymore till they hit 100,000. Can anyone give me any insite on this??

I wouldn't get the extended waranty. The 3.0 V6 will easily last 200K+ with proper maintenance. If you aren't 4x4 savvy then you might want to consider the warranty as 4x4 parts aren't the cheapest. Gotta love salvage yards.

Fords 3.0 V6 is one of their better engines produced. I highly recommend it. My taurus passed 91 000 miles last week and it hasn't required anything outside of regular maintenance. A seat belt spring was replaced under warranty around 20K. No biggie.
