Ford Escape The Ford Escape has been thoroughly updated, reinforcing the character and appeal that have made it America's perennial best-selling small sport-utility vehicle. The improvements nearly cover the spectrum, and inject a new level of refinement. We'd call the Escape a little truck among small SUVs. Its new styling deliberately invokes Ford's larger, truck-based SUVs.

Default Moon Roof does not open all the way

2006 Escape XLT:
After moonroof repair is done by a local Ford service, the moon roof no longer opens all the way. It used to work like this.
1. Press Open button once. The moon roof glass opens to comfort position that is about four inches to the rear edge of roof opening.
2. Press Open button again. The glass opens all the way disappearing into the roof.
After the repair, Step 2 does almost nothing. The glass attempts to move, 1/4 inch or so.
According to the service manager, the replacement rails are no longer available. Thus, the operation of moon roof changed. Ford Customer Relations told me nothing they can do. I already made four trips to the dealer. Does anyone in the forum know anything about this? Thanks.
