Ford Escape The Ford Escape has been thoroughly updated, reinforcing the character and appeal that have made it America's perennial best-selling small sport-utility vehicle. The improvements nearly cover the spectrum, and inject a new level of refinement. We'd call the Escape a little truck among small SUVs. Its new styling deliberately invokes Ford's larger, truck-based SUVs.

Default Parrot CK3200LS Bluetooth for iPhone

Philadelphia is now hands-free (The State of Pennsylvania is going to become hands-free.) So, I decided to add Bluetooth to my 2006 Escape (Audiophile/ Mach) for my wife's iPhone and my iPhone 3G. After long research, I narrowed down to Parrot CK3200 LS. Luckily, I was able to buy it for about $145 as a dealer since I own a computer store (it's a Mac store of course). You should be able to buy it for $150-200. It took me a while to find a correct harness for CK3200 and my Escape Mach/ Audiophile, though. You need QCFCSS-2P ISO harness. I got it from 1800mobiles.com for about $45. You also need a pair of DIN tools to pull the head unit out (I got it from Crutchfield).

Before the actual installation, I wanted to make sure I understand how these all connectors are going to connect to each other. BTW, no wire cutting at all. All connectors are plug-n-plug (play). It took me about 30 minutes of brain storming to figure it out. Once figured out, the actual installation was very smooth. It is a good idea to spend time reading FAQ articles from Parrot web site - how to setup and etc. I am still trying to figure out how to use Voice Commands.

1. MOST IMPORTANT STEP: Open the hood and disconnect the negative terminal at the battery. A small wrench, you need. All radio settings will be wiped out once disconnected.
2. Back in the car. Remove the audio head unit using DIN tools. Place them into positions and push outward slightly to unlock, then pull.
3. Unplug the main harness and plug Parrot and a special harness.
4. Place the Parrot screen and mic at your desired location.
5. Place the head unit back in.
6. Connect the negative terminal back.
7. Ladies and Gents, start your engine (to ACC). Voila. Parrot is smiling.
8. Pair your iphone. Parrot will read all contacts instantly.
9. Make a call to your friend to test mic location.

If you have more budget than I did ($200), you should try Parrot MKi9200. It looks sweet. I hope my project this weekend will help you to become hands-free, instead of being an annoying Drive-n-Call driver. You know what I mean.
