Ford EscapeThe Ford Escape has been thoroughly updated, reinforcing the character and appeal that have made it America's perennial best-selling small sport-utility vehicle. The improvements nearly cover the spectrum, and inject a new level of refinement. We'd call the Escape a little truck among small SUVs. Its new styling deliberately invokes Ford's larger, truck-based SUVs.
Does anyone know what type of transmission is in the 2006 Ford Escape XLT (non-hybrid)? The dealership is telling me its the CVT transmission but everything I've found says those are only in the 500, Freestyle and the Hybrids. It's either the CVT or the Torque Shift. The dealership says the CVT doesn't need a flush until 100k and the Torque needs it after 60k. I have 53k and they are saying I don't need to get it until 100k. Just wanted to confirm. Thanks for any help.
