Ford Escape The Ford Escape has been thoroughly updated, reinforcing the character and appeal that have made it America's perennial best-selling small sport-utility vehicle. The improvements nearly cover the spectrum, and inject a new level of refinement. We'd call the Escape a little truck among small SUVs. Its new styling deliberately invokes Ford's larger, truck-based SUVs.

Thumbs down Water leaks in 08 escape

I have taken my 08 limited escape in 8 times for leaking issues alone. I am not sure if the dealership is the problem or its the escape. I bought it new in 9/07 and have had leaks in back (4), passenger door, windshield and now water collects in driver door, have now taken it in 2 times to get resolved. I was told it was a "wet" door, but water has never collected in there before. Water pours out when I open door, I looked at drains and one is rusty. Dealership "fixed" by cutting out portions of the rubber strip by the drain holes, says this is per Ford Motor Company recommendation. Looks like duct tape is next.....

I'm taking a wild stab, but was it rustproofed? The water in the door issue sounds like clogged drain holes which might happen if there's too much rustproofing.

The windshield leak....not enough sealant, maybe? I would try asking a couple of windshield shops, see what they think.

My 2008 Escape has a rusty bolt made visible when you open the rear hatch. They keep cleaning the rust off, but have yet to replace the bolt. This may come back to bite ford in the ass I think...
