Ford Escape The Ford Escape has been thoroughly updated, reinforcing the character and appeal that have made it America's perennial best-selling small sport-utility vehicle. The improvements nearly cover the spectrum, and inject a new level of refinement. We'd call the Escape a little truck among small SUVs. Its new styling deliberately invokes Ford's larger, truck-based SUVs.

Maybe it isn't your EGR valve. There's normally another valve in the EGR system that reads the difference in pressure across the orfice in the ERG tube. It puts out a voltage depending on what it sees. You'd need a DMM, hand vacuum pump and specs/procedure from a manual to troubleshoot it.

What code are you getting? ERG flow at idle?

well i had the light on but it was for the O2 sensors....but now the code that is showing is p1000 but i have no code whatsoever on the EGR i find it weird that the EGR valve just broke out of the blue without any engine light on

What do you mean by "just broke"?

All the P1000 means is that all the OBD-II system monitors haven't been completed yet or really it hasn't been driven enough yet. If you disconnect the battery when you worked on it would cause that P1000 to come up.
