Ford Escape The Ford Escape has been thoroughly updated, reinforcing the character and appeal that have made it America's perennial best-selling small sport-utility vehicle. The improvements nearly cover the spectrum, and inject a new level of refinement. We'd call the Escape a little truck among small SUVs. Its new styling deliberately invokes Ford's larger, truck-based SUVs.

Default Information on 2009 Escape door panel

Okay - bad news. 8 year old tosses his cookies in my week old Escape. Where can I get detailed information on how to remove a rear seat door panel so I can do an extensive cleaning?

Thanks!

Poor kid.. Best bet is to go to a place that installs speakers and radios. They have the proper tools to remove the door pannel for you.. For clean up I would recomend a product called Pet Oxygen made by woolite sold at walmart.. Stuff works good for that kind of stuff and is pretty cheap.

Most Ford door panel do NOT require special tools for removal. Generic instructions follow.

Locate the 2 - 4 screws securing the panel to the door. One or two may be hidden in the arm rest or latch area. Large panels may have one low, behind a button. Front doors typically have a screw hidden behind the cover for the outside rear view mirror (that cover pulls off). Some rear doors require the plastic trim around the window to be removed (pull straight out) to expose screws.

Once you are certain all screws have been removed, the panel slides up and off. If it won't slide up, you missed a screw.
