Ford EscapeThe Ford Escape has been thoroughly updated, reinforcing the character and appeal that have made it America's perennial best-selling small sport-utility vehicle. The improvements nearly cover the spectrum, and inject a new level of refinement. We'd call the Escape a little truck among small SUVs. Its new styling deliberately invokes Ford's larger, truck-based SUVs.
I have an '02 escape xlt 60,000 miles, brakesare newer, new rotors too. master cyl.And booster also new. But brake pedal goes 1/2 way to floor and a.b.s. goes crazy! (pulsating) and car pulls right, sometimes, most of the time brakes are fine. but its scary as hell when it happens! any idea's?
It was a broken toner ring, dr. side, what a shame to waste a perfectly good axle shaft, cause of a .25 cent part. This situation is dangerous, The very design that is supposed to save lives, can cause a serious wreck. Can we blame China? somehow?
You don't need to replace the axle, you do need to remove it and have a new reluctor ring pressed on tho. Call your local machine shop and ask if they'll do it, it shouldn't cost too much. The ring should be around or less than $30.
