No clock when audio is on

I have a new 09 Escape Limited with navigation. The time/date show on the dash display (separate from the navigation/audio/phone display) except when I turn on any of the audio functions (radio, CD, mp3, etc). When I turn any of these functions on the time/date disappear. There is no reference to this in the owners manual. I have taken it to the dealer about this but they aren't sure if this is normal or if there is something wrong with the system. Anyone out there have any experience with this system?

I work out of my car and depend a lot on the clock its either clock and no radio or radio and no clock.

In the 2003 Ford Escapge there is a small black button near the CD player controls that says "clk". If you hit that, it will display the time. If you hit it again, it will display the audio & so forth. hope this helps...
