Unhappy 02 Escape, poor gas mileage AND burning through oil
Hello, I have a 2002 Ford Escape V6 4WD and recently my gas mileage has plummeted and I'm burning through oil. I got an oil change 2 weeks ago and I'm already a quart low...and I have NO leaks...any suggestions anyone has would be greatly appreciated.

Find a garage that knows how to do a cylinder leak down test. It might cost you $100 or so, but it will tell what is going on with your engine.

A cylinder leak down test is much more informative than a simple compression test and is not much harder to perform if you have the test equipment (not really that expensive).
