Ford Escape The Ford Escape has been thoroughly updated, reinforcing the character and appeal that have made it America's perennial best-selling small sport-utility vehicle. The improvements nearly cover the spectrum, and inject a new level of refinement. We'd call the Escape a little truck among small SUVs. Its new styling deliberately invokes Ford's larger, truck-based SUVs.

Default 2006 2.5l fwd abs problems

Has anyone else on here had problems with the abs indicating ring (or whatever it is called) on the front axle shafts? At 37K miles and no longer under warranty, the passenger side ring came loose, bound up somehow and got bent. I went to Ford for help, they turned me down even though I was only 1K miles over. They wanted over $300 for a new halfshaft and they were on backorder. I got mad and started looking for other options. If found and ordered just the ring from Ford for $35.00, cut it in half and used JB weld to put in on the axle without removing it. This fix has worked fine for 25K miles. Now the drivers side has done the same thing. I've looked for recalls and can not find any. I find this odd that both sides have come apart without Ford doing something about this. I can't believe that I'm the only one with this problem, hopefully someone on here can shed some light on this.
