Is traction control worth it? - What to look for when buying?
Ford EscapeThe Ford Escape has been thoroughly updated, reinforcing the character and appeal that have made it America's perennial best-selling small sport-utility vehicle. The improvements nearly cover the spectrum, and inject a new level of refinement. We'd call the Escape a little truck among small SUVs. Its new styling deliberately invokes Ford's larger, truck-based SUVs.
Is traction control worth it? - What to look for when buying?
Hi
I am wanting to buy an escape (V6, AWD). I have two general classes that are looking good to me. The first are the 2008 models as they have the traction control and curtain air bags - I have kids. The next group are the ones a bit older 2005ish ones that have around 80,000 KM. These are looking good as I can pay cash for one that should go for lots more miles. The 08's are twice and a bit more than the 05/06. Are the added "safety" features worth it? - I know safety is great but I don't plan on driving it like a sports car. The older ones must be at least as safe as my wife's durango and a heck of alot safer than my old 2 wheel drive dakota. I also heard the 08's don't stop that well as they went back to drums on the rear brakes.
Any thoughts, advice are greatly appreciated. Also if there is anything else I should know about the Escapes please let me know.
Thanks much for your time.
