Ford Escape The Ford Escape has been thoroughly updated, reinforcing the character and appeal that have made it America's perennial best-selling small sport-utility vehicle. The improvements nearly cover the spectrum, and inject a new level of refinement. We'd call the Escape a little truck among small SUVs. Its new styling deliberately invokes Ford's larger, truck-based SUVs.

Default 2004 Escape fuel filter

I do not see a schrader valve on the fuel lines under the hood, if I change the filter how bad is the pressure on these, should I be prepared for a gusher or a brief squirt?

You'll need a quick disconnect tool.

no tool needed except wrenches to release the filter from the bracket. The clips can be removed with your fingers. You can pull the fuel pump fuses and idle the car for a min or so, this will drop the line pressure to ~5 psi, much less spray on the disconnect!

Older ones required the special tool. Nice to know that they have gone to a much simpler design !
