Ford EscapeThe Ford Escape has been thoroughly updated, reinforcing the character and appeal that have made it America's perennial best-selling small sport-utility vehicle. The improvements nearly cover the spectrum, and inject a new level of refinement. We'd call the Escape a little truck among small SUVs. Its new styling deliberately invokes Ford's larger, truck-based SUVs.
So here is my dilemma. I am looking at a 2002 Ford Escape XLT. It has 120,000 miles on it and carfax is clean. The Air bag light is flashing and front tires are on the verge of replacing. I did notice when I accelerated it made a "bus like" sound. Is this common in most Escapes? I just need some insight from you fellow Escape owners!! Everything else seems to be in decent shape. Body has no rust. It does have a tow package and 4x4.
The asking price is $4,975. So any help would be much appreciated.
You need to get the airbag light checked out. It could be something as simple as a loose connector for the seat belt or it could be something much more serious ($$$$)
