Ford Escape The Ford Escape has been thoroughly updated, reinforcing the character and appeal that have made it America's perennial best-selling small sport-utility vehicle. The improvements nearly cover the spectrum, and inject a new level of refinement. We'd call the Escape a little truck among small SUVs. Its new styling deliberately invokes Ford's larger, truck-based SUVs.

Yeah I was a bit confused as to why he found that funny when I mentioned the door but technically it would be the weather stripping.

I personally know several people who own and drive 2009 Escape and have had no issues with their transmissions. Does that male them perfect ? NO ! Does your bad experience make them all failures ? NO !

Remember the "door swings both ways" ! Ford broke off sales supports for some Police Departments that were publicly complaining about their vehicles.
Doesn't matter. My Escape and others have had bad transmissions and that IS ford's issue! They need to stand by their customers. That's "nice" you have had a "good" experience with Ford, but that also doesn't mean we can't complain about it.

If Ford broke off deals with police because they complained, then that just goes to show that FORD is not doing right by ANYONE.

No company has to SELL you any product if they don't want to. They have the right to refuse your order and your money.

Well I am just about through a full tank with the average checks. Now running at 25.0 mpg everage over all ranges of driving. Highway, city, stop and go etc. I am very excited on the mileage as the Passat got 24-25 mpg with the same driving. Now a 4WD SUV getting the same mileage as the 1.8T is very nice. Plus I got my rear hatch cover, mud flaps, rubber mats and I put on my Hidden Hitch 1-1/4" receiver for my bike rack. The Escape is now complete and I love it.
