Ford EscapeThe Ford Escape has been thoroughly updated, reinforcing the character and appeal that have made it America's perennial best-selling small sport-utility vehicle. The improvements nearly cover the spectrum, and inject a new level of refinement. We'd call the Escape a little truck among small SUVs. Its new styling deliberately invokes Ford's larger, truck-based SUVs.

Since you are monitoring these forums on behalf of Ford, I suggest that the burned up transmission issue is at critical mass. Many folks are on their second and third transmission. These folks plus many others including myself who bought them on good faith to flat tow are now afraid to tow them as advertised. Is Ford working on a constructive fix for this issue or are they hoping people will just not bother to tow them and this will resolve the problem. If you cannot provide any information to us can you direct us to an appropriate contact to get some real answers. Not my local dealer and not customer service representitives but someone with answers. An answer may be as simple as yes we are working on a fix and it will be------------.
